REVIEWS

Director JC Clementz proves to be an excellent maestro. This is the kind of production that could spiral out of control without a steady hand, but Clementz stages the comedic interplay, as well as the elaborate musical numbers, with judicious clarity.

- Arts Fuse

The two energetic actors share the stage and the piano with great skill, and without missing a beat [...] The pratfalls and pirouettes are handled with precision as each suspect in turn is questioned and their hidden truths revealed. What we see on stage is a masterful and accomplished well-timed effort by the actors, director, sound, and lighting professionals. Indeed, at the end of the 90 minute production, the audience was on its feet and calling for the encore, which was happily provided.

- The Theater Mirror, New England Theater Guide

... in a staging sharply directed by JC Clementz that smoothly moves from the initial discovery of murdered Arthur Whitney by Marcus through witness questioning to revealing the identity of the killer as well as the thief who robbed ice cream meant to celebrate the now dead novelist’s birthday. ... Kinosian and Merrimack Rep make its 90 minutes of spirited wit and silliness as enjoyable as a premium quality sundae.
